Boeing iPad apps help airline technicians fix problems, reduce flight delays - GeekWire

The iPad isn't just helping the airline industry in the cockpit. Now, Boeing is offering a suite of mobile apps that it says will assist airline technicians in diagnosing maintenance issues, ultimately saving paper and reducing flight delays in the process.
The iPad apps give technicians working on Boeing airplanes instant access to manuals, part numbers and maintenance history, as well as a "Maintenance Turn Time" feature that allows technicians to send annotated photos of a damaged part to colleagues elsewhere and receive feedback in real time.
Boeing said it worked with several airlines over the past year to test the apps and receive feedback on its usability.
Pilots have already been using the iPad for a few years now, including those from Alaska Air, United and American.
