You’ve got your sneakers…you’ve got your Ipod…but what about your bowtie?
Runners came out to USC this morning for the annual Bow Tie Run to honor the memory of Dr. Andrew Sorensen, who was President of USC from 2002 – 2008.
The event was put on by Big Brothers Big Sisters, of which Sorensen was a long time advocate.
And the organization thought a Bow Tie Run would be the perfect way to honor his memory in a special way.
“He was known for wearing bow ties around campus, and for riding his bike around campus, and walking around. So it was just a fitting way to honor his memory and really the runners and walkers have grasped onto it in the three years that we’ve done the race and it’s just a whole lot of fun.” says Heidi Johnson, the President of Big Brothers Big Sisters of greater Columbia.
