An app on a stolen MacBook computer led to the arrest of two men for the slaying of University of Michigan medical student Paul DeWolf.
The Detroit Free Press reports that DeWolf’s neighbor’s laptop was stolen —allegedly by at least two of the three suspects in DeWolf’s slaying— and that when it was turned on by someone in Detroit, police were able to locate it using a ‘Find my Mac’ app downloaded on the computer and trace it back to the suspects.
Police allege that Shaquille Jones, 21, and Joei Jordan, 20, stole the laptop from DeWolf’s neighbor during roughly the same timeframe as DeWolf’s July 23 homicide. The laptop was sold on Craigslist, the Free Press reports.
