Filing Suggests Logitech's iPhone Gamepad is Called Powershell - The Next Web

We've already seen leaked images of Logitech's apparent upcoming gamepad for the iPhone and now, less than a month later, the product looks a whole lot more real thanks to another leak and a trademark filing that suggest it will be called Powershell.

The name was first put forward by serial technology insider @evleaks — who leaked initial images of the Powershell, below, on October 2 – and that claim is backed up by an entry on trademark and patent filing database Legalforce – flagged by @DustinLeiblein – which shows Logitech registered the Powershell trademark in September of this year.

The trademark filing describes the device as an "integrated game control device and battery pack for use with computers and digital electronic devices," but, since it is merely a filing, there's no mention of the iPhone nor are there any other details.

Logitech announced a reorganization in January which saw it switch its focus to mobile computing — and specifically tablets and smartphones — following a disappointing period of business for its PC peripherals devision. The Powershell, which could be rivalled by a rumored iPhone controller from Moga, would clearly fit with Logitech's new strategy.
