Katy ISD student sentenced for having child porn on iPod at school - Houston Chronicle

A Katy ISD student accused of having child porn on his iPod at school was sentenced Oct. 18 to five years deferred adjudication and fined $ 300.

Kyle Boman was 17 at the time of his arrest in January and charged with attempted possession of child pornography, which is a third degree felony.

Officials said Boman, now 18, had thousands of images of juvenile females and female classmates loaded on his iPod Touch while he was a student at Morton Ranch High School.

In his January arrest, court documents said his Apple device had over 3,000 images of nude adults and children on it, and uthorities discovered that at least 15 of those images were of prepubescent female victims. The documents also went on to say that two of those images were of a female victim that appeared to be 7 to 10 years of age and performing explicit sex acts.

A fellow student tipped off school officials about Boman’s cache of pictures. Katy ISD police and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office was then notified.

His probation ends in October 2018.
