Get an Android Jelly Bean tablet for less than £50
The Carphone Warehouse has cut the price of its budget Android tablet to an even cheaper £49.
The retailer’s Avoca 7 Android tablet usually costs £99 but that already cheap price has been halved to just £49. Carphone Warehouse says the bargain basement price is valid while stocks of the Avoca last. See also: The 9 best budget tablets: What’s the best budget tablet of 2013?
Graham Stapleton, Carphone Warehouse UK Chief Executive, said: “We know that over a third of tablet purchases are for children and family use but that one of the main barriers to not buying a tablet is cost.”
“Our Android 7" tablet smashes right through the previous lowest priced tablets and is perfect for families and anyone wanting a modern, portable tablet at a bargain price. I know a tablet will be top of many Christmas lists this year and this price makes top technology affordable for even more people, so we're expecting this to be hugely popular.”
With more tablets becoming more affordable, the retailer said it wants to offer more bang for the buck. Big names in the tablet market including Amazon and Barnes & Noble have dropped the price of their Kindle Fire and Nook tablets.

The Avoca 7 comes pre-loaded with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and although it is limited to 8 GB of internal storage, it has a microSD card slot for expansion.
“With up to 8 hours battery life and weighing 350g it’s super-portable and perfect for travelling as well as using at home.” added David Phelan, mobile technology advisor at Carphone Warehouse.
