iPhone 5S Versus Google Nexus 5 - Guardian Express

technology, apple, google, iphone, nexus 5, iphone 5S, versus

It's time for another battle of the bosses. With an oh so sexy approach of the iPhone 5S in three delicious colors, Google had to find a way to slow that freight train of sales. Enter the Google Nexus 5, powered by that sweet and sinful touch of the Android 4.4 KitKat. This is a battle where a clear winner may just point to a dandy tie. Proceed to see how these two titans of wonder measure up.

Google Nexus 5

For a long time, this writer has pinned high hopes on iPhone, but honestly one touch, one feel, one interaction with Nexus 5, opened a new world. T-Mobile and Sprint carrier the power of the Nexus 5, consumers can locate it at RadioShack, BestBuy or even the Google Play store. Onward to why this phone is pretty spectacular.

  • 5-inch screen with a power factor of the Full HD IPS.
  • Google Nexus 5 Versus iPhone 5S2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor  (this area can be debatable when it comes to the speed of the iPhone 5S and benchmark reviews)
  • 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with the feature of Optical Image Stabilization. 1.3-megapixel front facing camera.
  • A just lovely 2300mAh battery with up to 13 hours of active talk time.
  • Android 4.4 KitKat  (features include the Google search app for the home screen, larger icons, attractive array of wallpapers -drag and drop, voice commands, Immersive mode, Google Hangouts have officially replaced Messaging, new emoji virtual keyboard and tons more updates and a very cool concept of NFC mobile payments.)
  • Polycarbonate shell with a nice grip factor, it does not feel slippery. When it comes to the body, the iPhone 5S with its aluminium body just feels better.
  • One downside here? Like the iPhone 5S, Nexus 5 has no room for the microSD, so be sure of storage needs.
  • Sprint is offering some nice money off the device, originally priced at $ 449.99 for the 16GB model.

Apple iPhone 5S

In this Nexus 5 versus iPhone 5S battle – Apple brings some heat. The iPhone 5S is no lightweight and the following specs and features will further show why.

  • Getting the cons out of the way, consumers have for a long-time been frustrated with a lack of a microSD for the iPhone. Hopefully, one day that will change, but today isn't the day.
  • The iPhone 5S shows up to benchmark tests with the red carpet laid out for good reason. That A7, M7, 64-bit architecture is a hard pill for many to swallow, even the Nexus 5.
  • The iPhone 5S is just a classy phone, with an array of color choices in aluminum, harvesting the Touch ID Home button – iPhone 5S may have a leg up on frame and concept.
  • Google Nexus 5 Versus iPhone 5SDear Apple, please make larger screens – signed many iPhone fans. The Nexus 5 overshadows the 4-inch screen of the iPhone 5S.
  • iOS 7 – in retrospect it was a great idea and consumers love the idea of Find my Phone, but the OS did not release without a paramount of glitches, issues and even some consumers reporting motion illness. For now it seems the OS is settling comfortably with the consumers but KitKat wins the round in this review of the OS.
  • The iPhone 5S has an 8-megapixel camera and in novice tech self-learning, consumers know pixels is not the name of the game. The Nexus 5 has nice features with its Image Stabilizer and taking a picture revealed good images – even in low light or on a moving bus. The problem? Snapping a picture with the iPhone 5S showed incredible detail, Apple just needs to tune in on the low light features. Otherwise the iPhone 5S edges out the Nexus 5.
  • The iPhone 5S is sold with the major carriers and peeking over at AT&T – they are selling the iPhone 5S (16GB) for 50 percent off with a 2-year contract for the rest of the month. Therefore, the pricing considerations would have to be tie.

The Round Up Wrap-Up

Regardless, you are a fan of Android, iOS, iPhone or Google the results are in. Both are incredible phones. For customers who want the ability of accessing a seamless OS and a larger screen, the choice is clear- Nexus 5. For consumers who like sleekness and super fast speeds, look no further than the iPhone 5S. If only the two worlds of Image Stabilization, sharp pictures and speed melded, it would be a powerful hybrid. In this Google Nexus 5 versus iPhone 5S review, what preference is selected?
