This free major update integrates "Google Hangouts" with "Google Voice" so now you can use your "Google Voice" number to make free calls to, and receive free calls from, your "Google Hangout" friends—across the United States and Canada.
Besides this awesome new feature, you can now see which of your "Google Hangout" friends is online and who can be contacted right now. You can also send and receive animated GIFs that play inline. If you are listening to music when you receive a message from a "Google Hangout" friend, "Google Hangouts" will lower the volume of the music, instead of stopping it.
But the best part of all is the way that "Google Voice" and "Google Hangouts" transforms your iPad or iPod Touch into a free phone. Cool!
What’s more, you can turn any conversation into a video group conversation with as many as ten friends simultaneously—free.
