iPad 5 Renders Show Gold iPad 5 with Touch ID in Apple Store Setting - Gotta Be Mobile

The iPad 5 should arrive in stores as early as November 1st and a new set of renders show what the iPad 5 could look like in Apple Stores complete with a new Touch ID fingerprint sensor and a thinner design.

At this point it's pretty certain that the iPad 5 will come with a new design that looks a lot like the iPad mini, and that the new iPad is set for an unveiling with the iPad mini 2 at Apple's October 22nd iPad event. The company has not sent invitations out yet, but multiple reliable sources suggest that is only a matter of time.

Previous rumors suggest the iPad mini 2 will use a Touch ID sensor and a recent part leak appears to support plans to add Touch ID to the iPad 5.

Martin Hajek provides a collection of renders showing what the iPad 5 will likely look like in an Apple Store. Hajek's renders show a narrower thinner iPad 5 on a wood grain table with an iPad 5 sign, and while Apple will likely leave a "5″ off the signage, this is pretty close to what we can expect on the iPad 5 release.

Hajek's renders of the iPad 5 include a gold iPad 5 which is not specifically mentioned in a leak, but iPad mini 2 rumors suggest we could see a gold option, giving hope for a gold iPad 5.

Over the past several weeks, multiple iPad 5 Touch ID rumors leaked out including a new home button cable that could be a part of the iPad 5 and signal that Touch ID is coming. This cable appeared on C Technology, a Chinese blog that routinely shares unannounced Apple and Android products. While CTehnology was fooled by a Martin Hajek render during the build up to the iPhone 5s event, this new cable appears to help the case that Apple will add Touch ID to the iPad 5.

This alleged iPad 5 home button cable is considered evidence of an iPad 5 Touch ID sensor.

Adding to the speculation that the iPad 5 will feature a Touch ID sensor is a mention in a Forbes article on the Touch ID issues which states, "All indications are that the iPads announced on October 22 will mirror the 5S in terms of color options, A7 chip and the fingerprint sensor."

A video shows alleged iPad 5 parts assembled with the Touch ID sensor from the iPhone 5s fitting inside the opening, which is exciting, but nor definitive proof.

Apple is struggling to meet demand for the iPhone 5s possibly due to issues manufacturing Touch ID sensors. The gold iPhone 5s is still very hard to find without a three week wait. If Apple adds the Touch ID sensor and a gold iPad 5 option to the new iPad it could restrict supplies of the new gadget, but if Apple waits to announce an iPad with Touch ID it could be a long wait for consumers with an iPad 6 rumored for 2014 with a higher-resolution display.
