Man checks into hospital using fake name to steal iPhone and iPod - fox2now.com

TOWN AND COUNTRY, MO (KTVI)– A man checked into Missouri Baptist Medical Center using a fake name and stole another patient's iPhone and iPod, according to the Town and Country Police Department.

It all happened on September 20.

Police said the suspect even allowed a nurse to put an I-V in his arm.

Police told FOX 2 News that the suspect ripped the I-V out of his arm and then stole the high tech gadgets, then he slipped out of the hospital.

"That is crazy and pretty intense to go through all that for an iPhone and iPod," iPhone owner Cheyenne McCausland said. "But I guess you can sell those for a lot."

Police have surveillance photos and are asking anyone with information to call 314-587-2860.

Police said that the suspect is behind similar crimes at other hospitals in the area.
